Jeweler crafts ring for Tiger mistress pageant

Philadelphia--Steven Singer, who has made a name for himself with his offbeat "I Hate Steven Singer" advertising campaign, has taken the concept of irreverent marketing to a whole new level. Philadelphia-based Steven Singer Jewelers has created what Singer is touting in a news release as the "perfect mistress ring" for a beauty pageant slated to be held live on the air Wednesday during shock jock Howard Stern's Sirius XM radio show.In typical Stern style, however, this beauty pageant is no Miss America contest. The contestants are none other than headline-making alleged lovers of defamed golfer Tiger Woods.According to news reports, three or four of Woods' many mistresses will participate in the pageant, and will be judged in the categories of "bikini," "personality" and "talent." Sponsored by AshleyMadison.com, an online dating service for people looking to cheat on their significant others that uses the tagline "Life is short, have an affair," the pageant includes a top prize of $100,000 put up by Ashley Madison Chief Operating Officer Noel Biderman, as well as Singer's mistress ring. The "non-engagement" ring features a 3-carat black diamond center stone that "speaks very well for the purpose: mysterious, mystical and quite unique," according to the release. "Well, the mistress never gets the ring," Singer said in the release. "So we've created the 'non-engagement' ring for the winner of the beauty pageant. The winner will receive a beautiful, Steven Singer custom-designed 3.5-carat total weight diamond ring. It's now the official mistress ring."
